Today’s watercolor: Happy Autumn!

Happy autumn! Last week was pretty rough, especially with the looming typhoons creating awful pressure that just about knocked me out on Friday. But a long weekend full of (new!) cozy sweaters, coffee shops afternoons, art museums and Halloween festivities have me feeling pretty cheerful about fall at the moment.

Work in progress below the cut!

Inspiration for this came from a few places, including a picture from NicoNico that I can’t find a link to at the moment. I’ll try to add it later, but obviously this is pretty heavily influenced by Japanese illustration style. There’s also lots of Japanese fall elements, like persimmons and chestnuts and dragonflies, though lots of ideas about autumn are fairly universal (fall leaves! Apples!)

I forgot to take more work in progress shots, but here’s one:autumn
