Howard Stern Hates Yoshiki?

As I mentioned recently, we’re pretty familiar with X Japan. Yoshiki has been a guest at Otakon a number of times, and in addition to the Reunion Concert at the Tokyo Dome, we also saw Toshi & Yoshiki at Japan Expo in Paris last summer.

I was pleased to hear that Yoshiki has a new radio show on Sirius radio, but apparently Howard Stern doesn’t feel the same way. I know he’s not exactly known as a friendly, open-minded guy, but in this clip he sounds impressively bitter, and maybe a little out of touch. For example, he doesn’t seem to realize that Japan is actually on the same planet as the US. Uh, what?

What do you think about Howard’s rant?

In more cheerful news, I recently posted Cee Lo Green’s video of F*** You with Japanese Lyrics. Speaking of Cee Lo and Japan, this picture made me giggle like nobody’s business!

  1. Omg I found this this morning and was cracking up so much. Wtf, Howard Stern is such a dbag!

  2. Annie Frazier says:

The CeeLo Haiku is brilliant!! Oh man.

  3. NTG says:

That Cee Lo pic just made my (already pretty dope) day!

  4. Justin "Hatter" says:

Listening to, I just have to laugh to myself. Howard seems jealous of competition. If he knew how big of an influence Yoshiki has and can bring to the US, he would be inviting him with open arms.

  5. Blue Shoe says:

Heh…never been a big fan. He is such a d-bag. I guess sometimes he’s entertaining, but so often he’s just juvenile. Sounds like he’s just making fun of them here to be a dick and trying to be funny.

  6. Kat says:

I hate Howard Stern…..he’s such a DB…. God forbid he not know something. -_-

  7. I don’t like his show, but this is what Howard does. If this wasn’t a bit intended to draw attention to Yoshiki by disparaging him, it was a rant intended to fill time. In any case, it was nothing personal, and don’t feed the troll.

    • Yeah, I could see how this is sort of a reverse psychology play–his own special way of bringing attention. That, or he’s just bored. Still, he sounds so out of touch, it’s pretty amusing!

  8. Hiko says:

Haha, love this – and your blog. Great stuff on here.
